About us
SVO was founded in 1923, as a private school for butchers. The organisation has developed into training partner for companies in the fresh food sector. More than 150 employees work on a daily basis for our students and their employers. At present there are over 3800 participants.
Mbo-education and training
SVO provides practically-oriented mbo-education and training for people who work in fresh food retail, supermarkets, fastservicecompanies and the foodindustry. During their SVO-education the students work and learn at the same time. On average our students go to school one day a week. The other remaining days they work at a learning company, where students work and learn at the same time.
Eight locations
SVO has locations in Goes, Groningen, Heerhugowaard, Roermond, Rijswijk (ZH), Wageningen, Zwolle and Best. Employees of large companies in the foodindustry can also follow an in-company training or education.
Wide range
Depending on what a student prefers, SVO offers mbo-education at four levels. Starting at level one (assistant), until level four (entrepreneur/executive). It is also possible to to take part in a wide variety of training sessions at SVO. Employees also have the opportunity to get their competencies recognized by taking part in an EVC, in which an employee obtains (if succesfully completed) a certificate of obtained competencies.
